"Dress Rehearsal"

The Bomb Bassets are everything you could hope for in a punk band. Bass, guitar, drums, and vocals. Hard driving songs with catchy lyrics that last just long enough for the Short Attention Span Theater(tm) in all of us. Take, for example, the first cut "Please Don't Die." How could anyone get bored with a song that short or lyrics like this:Like Romeo said to Juliet. Oh baby, oh baby won't you kiss me please? Well, she said yes but her dad said no. And so they died....Well it seems like all good love has to die in it's prime. And before that happens dear, I'll just stand here and say goodbye. And please don't die. Please don't die."
This band from San Francisco is really a lot of fun to listen to and probably even better live. Their sound reminds me of the Clash and a few other bands from the late 70's. I look forward to more from the Bomb Bassets. By the way, the cover art is a real scream. Pictures of 50's girls wearing roller skates; a picture of a five piece family accordian band, and guys in inflatable monster suits.

I don't know if I'd call this punk, they're just good rock n' roll. Every song except for one is a love song which gets old after a while, but they're still good, the best being "all I say is duh". I was also a little worried when i heard acoustic guitars on some of the songs, but they actually pull it off quite nicely. If you're looking for a high energy rock n' roll band with great lyrics about girls then you should check The Bomb Bassets out.

Want a recipe for a yummy pop milkshake? Start with a dash of Sweet Baby, add a drop of the Hi-Fives, and shake well with a generous serving of the Mr. T Experience. Top with a dollop of producer Kevin Army (Green Day) and you've got the sweetest blend of pop/rock in town! Originally formed as a side project by Dallas and John Denery to resurrect some of the great Sweet Baby and Brent's TV songs of yesteryear, The Bomb Bassets have taken on a life of their own. Check out this CD if, like me, you're into bouncy pop songs about love.

This is so sweet that it makes me want to cry. Bubblegum pop-punk with members of Sweet Baby, the Hi-Fives, MTX, etc. It's just perfect. Awww, I love the Bomb Bassets. They can do no wrong. Cute, cute, sweet songs. Awww. Yeah, it's wussy but it's sooooooooo sweet. Genetically engineered to appeal to girls. Yep. -Naomi
